About Love.Live.Dance

Love.Live.Dance is Salt Lake County's premier ballroom dance studio, offering lessons in South Salt Lake and West Valley City. We focus on providing the best instruction by enabling our students to not just work with our own expert instructors, but with nationally-recognized trainers, coaches, and other professionals. Additionally, we offer a customer portal that allows students to track their goals and their progress towards meeting those goals or progressing through our dance syllabus.

Instructors

Samantha Stout

Samantha Stout

Samantha has been teaching beginners and advanced students since 2012. In 2017, she created Love.Live.Dance, where she teaches ballroom dance to students of all skill levels and goals, whether it is a couple looking to social dance, an individual interested in competing in DanceSport, or a bride and groom looking to have a one-of-a-kind wedding first dance.

In addition to traditional ballroom dance styles, Samantha is also a certified DanceVision instructor and a certified wheelchair dance instructor through the American Dancewheels Foundation. Accessibility and adaptability are central to how she approaches instruction, striving to make sure that every student has a positive dance experience. Samantha is also certified through the Baricchi Institute of Movement and Art and incorporates the principles of the psychology of movement and instinctive perception into her dance instruction.

Samantha and her students have participated in the Utah Star Ball, Salt Lake City's annual ballroom dance competition, since 2017. Additionally, her students competed in the 2019 Las Vegas Lights competition, where Samantha was awarded 1st place for "Top Female Teacher." Students also competed in and received top marks at the 2021 Snow Ball DanceSport Competition, and the 2021 Emerald Star Ball online events.

Hannah Smith

Hannah Smith

Hannah was raised in Kent, Washington where her passion for the arts began at just 8 years old when she learned to play the piano.

She began her training in ballroom dance at the age of 14 and won her first national title at 16. At 18, Hannah was awarded a Ballroom Dance Performance scholarship to Utah Valley University where she danced on the UVU Ballroom Dance Tour Team and joined Mos.A.IC., the university’s hip hop company. In May 2018, Hannah graduated with a BS in Movement Studies with an emphasis in Ballroom Dance.

Hannah has been a finalist in many competitions throughout the country in the International Ballroom and Latin styles, including California Open Dancesport, BYU Dancesport Championships, and U.S. National Amateur Dancesport Championships. After over a decade of competition and performance experience, Hannah expanded her artistic abilities to Hale Centre Theatre, where she performed in the U.S. premiere of Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom the Musical.

In addition to joining the Love.Live.Dance family, Hannah is also an instructor at Junction Dance Co. She previously worked as an instructor at Ballroom Utah and was the assistant coach of the Ballroom Dance Team at Provo High School.

Hannah enjoys sharing her passion for dance with others. While teaching, she strives to create an environment that promotes confidence, strength, and self-love through the power of movement and expression. Hannah continues to teach, choreograph, compete, and pursue independent performance opportunities throughout Utah.

Christian Alva

Christian Alva

Christian has been teaching ballroom dance for over 10 years professionally. He attended UVU where he joined the tour team and performed at Disneyland resort. Christian currently competes at the Pro- Am level with his students. Christian specializes in International Standard and Latin, but has experience teaching forms of partnership dancing such as American Smooth and Rhythm, Salsa, Bachata, West Coast Swing and many more.
